Historical note
Hague was one of the congregations of the Rosenorter
Gemeinde in Saskatchewan that had a meeting house. The founder of the
Rosenorter Gemeinde was Peter Regier (1851-1925). He had been appointed
Ältester in 1887 in Prussia. He emigrated to Tiefengrund,
Saskatchewan in 1893. In 1894 the Rosenorter Gemeinde of Saskatchewan
was founded. In 1909 their were enough families in the wider area to
form districts with a minister in charge of each. One of these was
Hague which had families worshipping together since 1907. They built
their first meeting house in Hague in 1911. The leaders during these
early years were Nicolai Bahnmann, M. Galle, and W. Friesen. In 1929 a
larger meeting house was built. By this time the congregation was more
or less independent. The old building was eventually used by the
Mennonite congregation in Neuanlage. The congregation became
independent from the Gemeinde in 1962. In 1963 the membership was 169.
Around 1980 the membership was around 200. In 2000 it was at 156. The
leaders of the congregation were: David Rempel (1923-1955), Johann
