Mennonite Settlements
in Imperial Russia (p. 38)
The Ural River and the Ural
Mountains form the border between European and Asiatic Russia. The
settlements near Tashkent, Ak Metchet and Aulie Ata were
founded during the 1880’s, and the settlements near Omsk
were founded after the completion of the western portion of the Trans-Siberian
Railway in the 1890’s.
